Feature Highlights
A button placed on the bottom of slide-based multimedia stories that sends the user below the slide for more context and information. The downward motion triggered by a click or tap creates the feeling of moving below the story, into another chamber or room. This feeling is accentuated by an inversion in the color scheme. This design takes inspiration from my own love of urban exploration, the Situationists’ idea of the "dérive" (an unplanned walk through a landscape), and the psychology of memory palaces/visuospatial learning.
Impact: ~20% of users clicked on at least one Detour per story. Articles had average engagement time of 1 - 1.5 minutes. 20-35% of readers completed 15+ slide articles.
An interaction paradigm in a slide-based, mobile-first multimedia article format where when the user taps, the field of view zooms out to reveal a web of interconnected slides, and then zooms back down into the next slide. This creates a sensation of moving across one interconnected timeline, a greater sense of narrative momentum, and piques users’ curiosity for what other slides/moments exist hidden in the space.
Impact: 30%+ completion rates on Instagram Stories, reached 70M+ unique viewers on Snapchat.

Feature Highlights
An interaction paradigm in a slide-based multimedia article where when a user clicks or taps on any part of an image, they are able to ask questions about that exact part of the image using generative AI. For example, a user could click on the black outer part of the NVIDIA chip below and learn about what that part of the chip does.
